SHOOTING LESSONS for Trap or Skeet are two-hour sessions by appointment.
This includes everything needed for the lesson including guns, if needed. We will supply eye and ear protection, and any props needed during the lesson. Not included is ammo and the cost of the targets. Targets are 5.00 to 7.00 for 25 (referred to as a round). The cost of targets will vary depending on the particular club. You can bring ammo, or I can supply it. Ammo is between 6.50 and 9.00 per box of 25. You pay the club for the targets.
In order to shoot at Loch Raven you must complete a short on line safety form. Please go to http://www.lochravenskeettrap.com/
follow the instructions and bring a copy with you. You can also do it at the club.
During the first lesson we will use four to six boxes of ammo and five to seven rounds of targets. These numbers are about the same for a group. Four to six boxes of ammo and five to seven rounds per group, not per person. In lesson one, We will cover gun safety, gun operation gun mount (how to hold the gun properly), stance, target acquisition and more. You'll be pleasantly surprised how many targets you’ll l hit during the first session.
We are located in Maryland. We do Trap and Skeet lessons at Loch Raven Gun Club, which is North of Baltimore, and Prince George’s Gun Club, which is between Baltimore and Washington DC. Sporting Clays Lessons are also available. We do those at Prince George's Trap & Skeet Center in Glendale, MD, and at Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor and The Point at Pintail on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Sporting Clays costs are a little more because the targets are more expensive. We can travel to a location near you, and the expenses would need to be added to the lesson fees. Usually when we travel, individual students do several lessons in a one or two-day period, or we set up group sessions. We will tailor it to your needs. You are welcome to call either of us anytime, or contacts us by email Gift certificates are also available.
Note: Occasionally the Loch Raven range gets busy during a lesson. Because they do not charge you or me more because we used their facility for the lesson, we may have to give way to other shooters. If this happens we’ll take a short break, probably go into the club-house get a drink and continue the lesson when a range becomes available. This does not happen often, but it does happen. If we cannot finish the lesson, I will pro-rate the cost or we can reschedule at your request.
Lessons for groups of more than three students usually require more than one instructor. Prices for groups are quoted individually depending on your requirements.
